This was initially put out on The High Seas, and is limited to 100 copies. 
It's a slab of popambient heavily layered drone on some delightful coloured vinyl.

"Brand new record from NZ guitarist/dronescaper Nigel Wright, who at this point definitely has to be one of our favorite sonic conjurers of minimal drones and gorgeous abstract soundscapes, and the two tracks here do nothing to convince us otherwise. 
The A side is a hushed meditative drift, warm layered whorls, slow motion melancholy melodies, all draped over a strange haunting urgent tension, the imbues the whole track with a fantastic dark drama, very minimal, and slow moving, it's almost the darker, more shadowy side of Pop Ambience, ominous and haunting but so lovely.
The B side plays like a more washed out dreamlike version of the the A side, hazy, gauzy, a bleary blurred shimmer rich with buried melodies and slow shifting layers, reminding us of The Caretaker without all that crackle and hum, the same sort of faded memory timeless melancholia. This split 12” brings together two amazing EPs onto the one release and hopefully opens the ears of more people to the great new sounds coming out of NZ.

On the one hand we have PERFECT HAIR FOREVER – notoriously publicity shy, hiding in the shadows, recording vocals in his parent’s bathroom when they aren’t home, and possibly the best new shit out of NZ in recent years. PHF spews nuggets of perfectly formed garage punk pop noise freakouts onto Bandcamp. In the space of two years he’s put out twelve releases. You’d be hard pressed to find a dud among them. From haunted Western freakouts to terrifying anonymous monologues to songs that make you want to chop a beer and smash the can on your face – its all there. ZERO E.P showcases his killer songwriting chops and unique sound – an ideal starting point for leaping into his extensive catalogue.

 And on the other hand we have THE MUSCLE – originally from Toowoomba, Australia, now based in Auckland (via prison), he’s on a quest to make everything smell like sweat. THE MUSCLE (aka Fred Strong aka Deltoid Goodrem) smashes out the best damn X-Files Paeans/Power Pop/Garage Scuzz this side of the Tasman Sea. Like 60’s folk garage? He’s got that covered. Early Flying Nun songs about art school girls? He’s got you. Scuzzy songs about Dana Scully? YUP. Fred Strong’s grasp of a song that’s JUST long enough, with JUST the right hook and JUST the right sound is truly masterful. This is an artist more people should be listening to, very loud.

Combine two stunning EP’s with a rad mastering job by Mikey Young (Eddy Current Suppresion Ring, Total Control, Ooga Boogas etc) and you have one hell of an intro to Auckland.
